Cenospheres

Cenospheres are exclusive free flowing powders comprised of hard shelled, hollow, tiny spheres collected from coal ash. Cenospheres are lightweight, inert, hollow spheres of Silica and Alumina filled with gas which naturally occurs in the combustion of coal. The properties are same as manufactured sphered products. Thus, it is also called as Glass beads. Due to the lower value of thermal conductivity, higher particle strength, ultra-low density, impermeability they are used in various industries. The average diameter of cenosphere is around 100ìm. Being inert it is not affected by solvents, water, acids, and alkalis. Cenospheres are 70% lighter than other minerals, which are being used as filler.

Utilisation of Cenosphere reduces the cost of the final product and at the same time improves strength and durability. Cenosphere is stable up to 1000°C with negligible mass loss. Cenospheres are chemically inert and exempt from classification as a "Hazardous Waste" by the U.S.Environmental Protection Agency. They are also considered reclaimable and labelled as "Environmental Sound".
